1/100 MG MG Sazabi
Intro
The Sazabi was the first Master Grade I've assembled. The Box is Big and the model is big too. It looks
Really cool, but not terribly posable. Despite this, I think I've managed to get some decent
poses out of it. Overall, I'm quite happy with it. The color of the plastic is perfect. The Armour comes
in 2 shades of Red. The lower leg skirts are pretty thin, but I painted the inside flat black. This also made
thr lower leg skirts look like a darker red.
Some Painting is required:
- Not all the Yellow pieces are actually yellow. Unlike the Kämpfer, most of Jets are one piece
and black plastic.
- Where the Funnel case came off the Sprue tree, a white stress mark could be seen. I painted that
With the Dark Grey that came with the Sazabi Color Set. I ended up not using the 2 Reds that came with the set.
- All of the Black plactic parts are the exact same color. This is a little boring. So I painted the knee, Elbow
joints, the power/fuel cable arounf the neck, and most of the hands Tamiya Haze Grey.
- I painted the Gun Tamiya German Grey. I think the flat German grey came out good.
- I used Flat black for the leg and forearm seam lines and a Black Gundam marker and some thinner for the fine panel
lines.
Actual Contruction
Putting the Sazabi together was pretty straight forward. Just like every other Bandai Gundam, you
make the Arms, legs, head and Main body one after another. The parts fit well together and required a minimal
sanding. Even the Funnels worked out ok. The tricky part was the Dry transfers. I'm not happy with the placement
of the emblem on my Sazabi's shield. It looks ok, but is a little low.
