1/100 MG Gouf Custom

Intro

This is an exceptionally detailed kit, that I think is very faithful to the Anime. It has some really nice details, the Big Gatling gun and Gatling cannon being some of the best features. Like most of the newer MG models, Bandai has placed the seams as to be mostly non intrusive and in all the proper locations.

Actual Construction

Putting the kit together was pretty straight forward. The longest part to assemble was the Gatling gun. The internal Details are incredible. You could assemble this model and leave off the Armour and still get an incredible model.

Painting and Detailing

After using White Tamiya Fine surface primer I used the Gunze Sangyo Gouf Custom paint set. It pretty much is the same colors of the plastic, but naturally is a lot more consistent when airbrushed. The Phantom Gray of the kit looks great too. For the guns I used the Gunze Sangyo Mobile Suit extra color set. As you can see from the before and after shots, it provides a good Gun Metal color to the Gatling gun. Finally, I used pen markers and a paper towel to fill the panel lines. After putting the stickers on, I put 2 clear coats of Tamiya Clear lacquer. This gave it a nice semi-gloss finish. It almost looks like the model was oiled. This will give the model a nice finish and protect the stickers from coming off in humid weather.
